Maybe you have a comfortable house, a secure job, a good car and a savings account. Or maybe you are struggling to pay your bills, keep your job and hold your family together. Whatever your circumstances, are you missing the key piece to the puzzle of your life? Are you missing peace with God?
The Bible says, “Your iniquities (sins) have separated between you and God; your sins have hid His face from you” (Isaiah 59:2). You are in one camp, He is in another, and your sins stand between. Your sins are offensive to God regardless of the number and kind. Peace with God depends on solving the problem of your sins. Only when you know your sins are paid for can you enjoy true peace and joy. What will give you peace with God? Religions offer many suggestions, but God has one requirement. He says, “Without the shedding of blood, there is no remission (forgiveness)” (Hebrews 9:22). Prayers, church membership, baptism and a good living will not satisfy God’s requirement. Your sins must be paid for with a sacrifice.
What God demands, He provides. God sent His Son, the Lord Jesus, to die on the cross. What a plan! God “made peace through the blood of His cross” (Colossians 1:20). Through the sacrifice of His own Son, God has provided a solution to the problem of sin. However, God’s provision must become your solution. God requires you to admit the problem of your sin and to accept Christ, the sacrifice, as your Saviour. God invites you today to have “peace with God
through our Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:1).
